This flagship store for Marni in Milan is tucked away within a quiet courtyard off Via Della Spiga in the heart of Milan's luxury shopping district. The sprawling two storey boutique occupies over 300m² and replaces the smaller store that was located nearby on Via Saint Andrea.
Drawing on the classicism of the existing 19th century building interior, together with the unique vocabulary of the Marni aesthetic, Sybarite have created a space that is rich in contrast and faithful to the playful spirit of the brand. The 'Seminato alla Veneziana' stone flooring, imposing granite columns and vaulted ceilings have all been respectfully restored and create an interesting juxtaposition of old and new.
The stainless steel trees curve effortlessly around the shop, impressive in their reach. Floating around the perimeter, free of floor fixings, the sinuous hanging display rails seem to grow with flared legs from the floor. Inlaid with multi-hued ellpises of timber, resin and perspex, the display surfaces of polished steel are directly inspired by Consuelo Castiglioni’s clothing collections for Marni.
